Sommer Solstice is a celebration of peak light and radiant energy, brought to life through a curated collection of intimate, small-scale artworks. This exhibition features 7 artists from Berlin, Luxembourg and Saarland. From the blinding clarity of high noon to the long, lingering shadows of midsummer nights, join us for a journey through the season of abundance. Opening August 22nd at the studio. Hanna Buruk

Sushma Hegde is a self taught watercolour artist and author based in Luxembourg. Her loose, expressive paintings are inspired by flowers, landscapes, and the changing seasons. Influenced by years of painting outdoors, she focuses on capturing the feeling and character of her subjects rather than perfect detail. Her work celebrates colour, light, and the calming beauty of nature. Through her paintings and teaching, she hopes to encourage others to slow down, connect with nature, and notice the beauty that surrounds them every day.

Ulrich Höfer has been capturing special moments as a professional photographer since 2008, and during the quieter phases of the COVID-19 pandemic, he discovered digital painting as a powerful form of artistic expression. His artistic style combines the trained eye for composition and light developed through photography with expressive digital brushstrokes, tactile textures, and vibrant color palettes. He is inspired by the transformation of real-world structures into abstract, emotional visual moments and the interplay between observation and free creation.

Alexandra Bohemia is an abstract artist from Saarbrücken. In her work, she gathers colors, moods of light, and impressions of landscapes from her travels and translates them into minimalist, atmospheric compositions. Her work is characterized by subtle color transitions, transparent layers, and a calm, almost meditative visual language. Her works navigate the space between memory and landscape without depicting specific places. Instead, they invite viewers to rediscover their own memories and emotions within the images.

Hanna Buruk is a Ukrainian artist currently living in Germany. She has been passionate about painting since childhood, although she originally worked in the banking sector in Ukraine. She holds a degree in finance and graduated from the art school in Odessa in 2003. The sea is a recurring motif in her work—which is no coincidence, as her hometown of Odessa is located right on the coast. She regularly participates in art exhibitions and competitions in Ukraine, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Greece, Switzerland, and France. Additionally, she leads free art and art therapy workshops in Germany. In March 2024, she completed a course in art marketing.

Soniya Vijayakumar is an abstract expressionist artist who infuses nature’s essence and the beauty of everyday moments into captivating artworks, specifically designed to elevate hospitality spaces. Known for her meticulous detail and rich textures, Soniya utilizes eco-friendly paints to create conversation-starting pieces in watercolor, acrylic, and natural mediums. Working from her beautifully curated studio, she delivers exquisite original artworks and high-quality art prints. She also offers bespoke commissions, collaborating with interior designers, art curators, and hospitality consultants to weave your unique vision into reality.

Arpi Ayvazyan paints the hidden architecture of choice — what the mind builds, what it erases, and the quiet red thread that ties a coffee cup to a memory of the sea. She is born in Armenia and currently based in Germany. A Master’s degree in behavioural economics and game theory taught her to decode how humans navigate complex scenarios; ink and charcoal lets her draw what the equations cannot say. In an age where AI can dream a thousand images in a minute, she chooses the meticulous discipline of crafting by hand. Each surface is a liminal threshold where abstract thought codifies into graphic form.

Manuel Franken is a Berlin based artist who came to painting without formal academic training. What began as a way to cope with chronic pain evolved into a profound form of artistic expression, combining his passion for craftsmanship with a clear visual language. Inspired by Mediterranean landscapes, architecture, and the memories and daydreams these places evoke, his work is intentionally reduced to color, form, and distinctive texture. Using a variety of unconventional tools and extended drying times, he creates richly tactile surfaces that give each piece depth and presence. Defined by a timeless aesthetic, his minimalist works convey a sense of calm and groundedness while inviting viewers to slow down and discover new details within their layered textures.
